Throughout all Key Stages, we visit places to support the work we do, including looking at the local area surrounding the school.
In Year 7, we visit Dovedale and Carsington Reservoir to support our work on ‘Rivers’ and ‘Tourism’.
In Year 8, we visit The Natural History Museum in London to support our work on ‘Natural Hazards’ and ‘Brilliant Biomes’.
In Year 9, we visit Cadbury’s world to support our studies of many of the topics on the GCSE course, including ‘World of Work’ and ‘Changing Cities’.
In Year 10, we visit the River Dane in the PDNP to collect data for our controlled assessment and Cornwall to support the topics of the GCSE course.
In Year 12, we visit North Wales and the Peak District to support the modules undertaken across both the Year 12 and Year 13 course.
We also have a ‘Geography’ club – an opportunity for students to come and ask for help and assistance on their work, or to use our computers to further research work set in lessons.
