History at Painsley

During history lessons, teachers aim to develop pupils thinking and analytical skills in a variety of creative ways. Pupils spend time trying to solve mysteries of the past using a wide range of both modern and contemporary sources in engaging activities. During history lessons, pupils are encouraged to think and work independently and a number of research projects are conducted in each year of study. History fires the imagination and the department promotes pupils enthusiasm and love for history by creating a stimulating learning environment. Pupils take part in a variety of learning activities ranging from detective work, role play, pupil presentations and are encouraged to develop their historical skills in pieces of extended writing.
