Invitation to All
Languages Club meets every Tuesday at 12.30 in the Château and is open to students, no matter which year group they are in, or which language(s) they may study.
Languages offered
We try really hard to offer language club members a wide variety of linguistic experiences. Students have had the chance to learn some Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, Turkish, Spanish and Welsh, Polish and Hebrew.
We made our own Passover meal!
Things that we do

This is a brilliant opportunity to learn other languages and get a real flavour of foreign culture. Activities include games, watching videos, dancing, researching and discovering facts about other countries as well as trying foreign foods.
We try to learn useful words and phrases from each of the languages so that we could “Get By” in that country.
We also learn about the country and its culture. We learn about the population and the famous cities and landmarks within the country.
We enjoy the country’s music and dance and of course the food. Every member of the Languages Club cooks something and brings it in. Then we all taste the dishes.
“Me gusta la paella” was the popular chant at the tapas tasting.
In December we tried some food that the people of other countries would eat over the festive season. We ate things like Turkish
Delight Panettone, Stollen, Lebkuchen, Bûche de Noël, Weihnachtsgebäck. Lots of people attended and they all had fun!

With the Olympics coming up in 2012, the countries to explore are so many. Just cannot wait!
So if you want to make your languages come to life, this is the place to go!
Hasta luego!!!!!!!!
