On Friday 4th October, we celebrated Harvest with special acts of worship for every year group. It was truly amazing to see our stage so full of produce.
Year 7 and 8 Chaplaincy crew have sorted and packed the parcels and over 120 bags will be sent out to the local food bank and our Parishes over the next few days.
Here are some of the comments from our fantastic students:
‘Today I walked into the act of worship and saw all the food on the stage which brightened up my day! It was so good to hear Mrs Rooney saying that it is going to the food banks and our Parishes’.
Louise Year 8
‘When I first came into the hall the amount of food shocked me. There were towers stacked all across the stage. I am so pride to see all of the food going to charities. I feel it will make a massive difference’.
Isabel Year 8
‘Today when I saw the amount of harvest that everyone had brought in, I was gobsmacked! I helped afterwards with sorting out the produce and putting them into bags. Today has been an experience I will not forget’.
Olivia Year 7
‘This morning I helped with the harvest. It took a while as there was so many items. I was amazed and so very happy to think that we are helping so many people in our community’.
