Eight students from year 10 had the opportunity to take part in the Year 10 Gifted and Talented Business & Economics Club ran and organised by Mr C Bradbury, Mrs A Parker and Miss B Blackburn. The students attended the club every Wednesday lunchtime over the past 5 months to take part in the programme; they gained a valuable insight into the world of business both theory and practical elements. The end project was for groups to create and design a business providing a product/service covering all aspects of the business in detail. The students then pitched their business ideas in front of a panel of judges. All the judges were extremely impressed with the amount of detail and enthusiasm that went into the presentations and ideas. The winning team for best pitch was ‘Peripheral’ a computer accessory company who had created 3D working models of their products, left the judges astonished with their pitching skills within their presentations. The best idea award went to the ‘LaPrints’ team which had come up with the idea of a Laptop-Printer all in one unit, the team went to extreme detail on the product information. The other team ‘Quong Motors’ created a fully sustainable car concept, and produced an extremely competent business pitch covering all functional areas for their ideas. A huge congratulations and well done to all the students who took part in the club for all their hard work and effort. We hope you continue to innovate and lead a future in business and enterprise.
